Going to the gym before work versus after work

I have about 45 minutes left here at work. Sometimes - okay, most times - the last thing I want to do after 9 hours at work is to go to the gym and do more work. I’m usually tired by the end of my work day, and I just want to change, eat, and relax.

Going to the gym in the morning before work actually leaves me feeling energized, cheerful, and ready to tackle the day.  Getting up early to go to the gym, however, leaves me wanting to kill someone.

However, because I’m more likely to do it if I get it out of the way with early on, I think mornings will be best for me.  As soon as I learn to go to bed earlier, that is. :-D

I’ll be going to the gym tonight, but I will take it easy.  My legs still hurt and obviously overdid it.  There’s always a danger of burning out and discouraging yourself if you go to hard at the beginning.  I know I’m an impatient person, but I need to remember how rewarding it is to delay gratification and set small markers to be reached.
