My Weight is at its Heaviest, Ever!
After coming home last night, I got on the scale and weighed myself. I couldn’t believe the number, so I weighed myself again, thinking maybe the scale was being screwy. I weighed again, and again. I even brought the scale out to the kitchen floor, thinking maybe a different surface would help. One more time. Then another. I sighed. It wasn’t changing, and I wasn’t surprised.
I weighed in at 111.5 lbs, the heaviest I’ve ever been my entire life. Woah! But I had a feeling I would…
All last week, I was constantly hungry and ate so much food. It’s a hormonal thing for me and always happens 2 weeks before my period, but this time it was worse than usual. Plus, with the baseball playoffs going on, I went out a lot to sports bars (I don’t have TBS) and ended up watching the game and eating a lot of bar food like fries, chicken wings, pizza, and of course, beer. (By the way, Go Red Sox!)
So now I’m about 7 lbs heavier than I have ever been. Did I mention those 7 lbs were gained yesterday? I weighed in at 104 in the morning, and of course weight fluctuates throughout the day, but 7 lbs! Let’s take a look at why:
I went out Saturday night and drank a lot of Amstel Light. For “breakfast” I had some leftover wonton and chicken soup and fried catfish with rice, and then for a late lunch I went out and had deep-fried wontons, stir-fried ground chicken and eggs, a squid salad, and spicy seafood fried rice. Went out to watch the game later and had an 8-inch sausage and pepperoni pizza, a rum and Coke, 3 Miller Lites, a shot of tequila, and when the game went into extra innings, an order of 6 fried chicken wings with blue cheese dressing.
So is it any surprise that I came home and weighed in 7 lbs heavier after all that food and alcohol? Ugh!
So starting today, I am on a calorie-restricted diet. So far, my calorie count for the day is is about 480, and yes, I am hungry, but I think this is more of a mental thing. I am used to stuffing myself and I think it will take some time for me to not crave food and get use to eating regular portions.
I would be happy weighing in at 95 - 100 lbs, which is still healthy for my height and frame, but more importantly, that’s the weight where I personally feel the most energetic and healthy.
Now let’s see about sticking to this diet.
