How to Make Healthy Lunch Choices at Work
Yesterday, my calorie count for lunch was 542 calories. A massive improvement over my usual of about 800 - 1700 calories for lunch - for just ONE MEAL!
The difference is that I am now bringing in my own lunch to work. Eating the office provided lunch, or even going to the food places around here, is just too unhealthy. Why take in extra calories when I don’t have to?
However, with my love for food, I am not going cold turkey. I am still eating a little bit of the office lunch to supplement the food I brought in from home. Yesterday, with Del Taco, I had a chicken soft taco. Today, I had an extra crispy chicken wing from KFC. One extra crispy chicken wing. I usually have about 4, at least, but not today. This brings my calorie count for lunch to 494 calories, again, a drastic difference versus my usual calorie consumption for lunch here at the office.
I don’t feel cheated or anything because I really enjoy the food I brought in from home, and because its calories count is so low to begin with, I can still have a little something extra from the provided lunch if I wanted to. The only issue I have to deal with now is my officemates complaining about the smell of my tuna and garlic. Well tough! They’re getting fatter while I am (slowly) toning up.
